1/25/2005 - Sales of My Problem Solved! 2.0 have been, well, disappointing. In 2005 I have to consider rewriting the program, lowering the price, or something else. In the meantime I will still accept orders for the program, and leave the download available, however I am pulling my demonstration pages off the site - at least for now. 2/6/2004 - My Problem Solved! 2.0 is now ready for download. There still may be a few "warts", I have yet to write the perfect program, so I welcome any comments if you try the program out. Thanks to my beta testers for their input during the development process.
Information about the web interface for My Problem Solved! 2 can be downloaded as a PDF now at http://www.lnsoftware.com/myps2web.pdf 1/25/2004 - Beta tests on My Problem Solved! version 2.0 are progressing and feedback so far is good. Among the changes is the ability to automatically send an email to the requestor when a technician updates the request using the Windows application. So far, this seems to be working well. Version 2.0 will also provide the ability to save most reports in PDF format. The new Report Builder, which will supplement the report wizard, is an exception to this PDF output capability. 1/12/2004 - I am working on My Problem Solved! 2.0 The windows interface will be changing a good bit. The web interface will look about the same. I will hopefully improve the documentation. A screen shot from the next version, currently in development is shown below:
I have just released a new help desk program (yes, another one) that will allow you to use the increasing popular MySQL database as the backend and it provides a web interface utilizing PHP and HTML pages. If you have an interest in an IT Help Desk program that has an easy to learn and use Windows based front end and a comprehensive web interface, My Problem Solved! may be worth a look. The combination of MySQL and PHP is attractive to many organizations because many web hosts provide both as part of their services. In addition, organizations that want to have a help desk program on their LAN can now use a Linux based server to serve the web pages and the database, or one server for the database and another for the web pages. This program, like most of my others, allows for recording, updating and reporting on not just user support requests, but also computer, peripheral and software inventory. The windows application makes good use of "lookup tables" to speed data entry. Query, Report and Spreadsheet Wizards make getting data out as easy as was to put data in the program. Import existing data from .csv (comma separated value format) files.
